heat
Some days I wonder if anything productive can actually be accomplished between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Well at least on campus before finals start. It's pretty obvious that most people (myself included) would rather be doing something else. Today it's rainy and cold, which is actually making it a lot easier to work in the office because the lure of the outdoors is pretty much non-existant. Working in the shop a little closer, but will be closer still once I install that free standing fireplace. A heated shop will make it a lot nicer working on projects at night.
Speaking of fireplaces, I need to get the lumber off my trailer so I can bring home more significant quantities of firewood from the farm. If my current wood supply lasts till the weekend, I'll be surprised. I guess I'm close enough to being finished with the log work, that I can go ahead and set the lumber outside under a tarp by the cabin.
And since we're on the subject of heat... I've been whining that my office is crazy cold since one of the heating units died, but I didn't want to bring a space heater from home since we're moving offices in a couple of weeks. Well, yesterday was almost intolerable for a guy who likes things a little on the cool side, so I brought the heater today. According to the thermometer, on the heater my office was 56 degrees when I plugged it in and it's warmer than it was yesterday. Now, as long as I keep the door closed it's a balmy 72. Now I can feel my fingers to type.
Finals start next week, people are about to rush the doors to get home.
In the mean time...live well...laugh often...wear wool socks.
