a new book
I think I'm about ready to start on another book. I need to get the writing work that's currently on my desk off my desk and then we'll see. I've also thought about a documentary of some sort, who knows maybe both. I have realized that I need to re-engage the literary part of my mind again.
I've had a working title for a possible book called, "A Bowl Full of Dirt" based off of the notion that Christianity is as much about getting our hands dirty as it is about keeping our noses clean. The problem is that I'm not sure my hands are dirty enough yet to have the credibility to write it. That, and I don't really think the world needs another church book.
Another option is to write something weighing my seemingly bipolarism when it comes to technology. You know the logic of a guy who has an iPhone stuck in his bib overalls pocket while he builds a log cabin. That one seems to have better legs, but what's hook to get people interested in it? The log cabin seems to catch the imagination of people, but I think I need to zero in on what exactly what it is that people are drawn to. It's probably the same thing that draws me to it. The authenticity of the thing. The idea of going from trees in the forest to a sound protective shelter with few materials coming from a store and no outstanding debt when it's completed. Perhaps it's the pursuit of 'real'? I guess Las Vegas would be the complete opposite where nothing is actually real. Hmmmm
